Biography
Hi, and thanks for visiting my site. I’m a part-time potter, full-time mom, and lifetime dreamer. My pottery love affair started in grade school – one random day we had a special art lesson and my teacher introduced me to the magic of clay and I made my first ceramic art piece – a bear that I later glazed blue. I was hooked. I was fortunate to be able to continue learning about ceramics and pottery throughout high school and college and started a small studio in California. Many years later after establishing a career in the wine industry I moved my family to Washington and reconnected with my love for clay.
My studio’s work is primarily utilitarian pieces, bowls, plates, vessels are designed to be simple and useful while minimally beautiful. All are dishwasher safe, microwave and oven safe, lead-free stoneware.
My daughter Ava is featured in many of my studio photos along with her friends, she shares my love of art and creating. Ava is my inspiration for the kid’s Clay at Home series, Ava helps test and review the projects and trust me – she is very honest! I also share my home in Issaquah with my partner Matt, and our two young dogs, Lucy and Vinnie.
